ESHRE 2023
Selected several research pieces from the team of IGLS.
The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) for its 39th Annual Meeting in Copenhagen has selected several research pieces from the team of IGLS.
The study entitled: “Regenerative endometrial PRGF(plasma rich in growth factors) treatment in patients with thin endometrium, recurrent implantation failure, and recurrent miscarriages: a retrospective, self-controlled, cohort study” will be presented by Daniel Bodri on 27/06/2023 (Tuesday) 17:00-17:15 during the scientific session 70 about “Innovative approaches to treating infertility”.
This study conducted by Daniel Bodri MD MSc PhD, provides new information on clinical outcomes of this new and innovative treatment using growth factors from the patient’s own blood, an approach which has gained more and more traction in recent years. Hopefully, it will help to provide more precise and personalized information for prospective patients choosing to undergo endometrial regeneration treatments.
This retrospective work presents our results spanning through 7 years, with 150 endometrial PRGF treatments in poor-prognosis IVF patients with thin endometrium, recurrent implantation failure, and recurrent miscarriage. The results are encouraging, because compared to their previous failed attempts live birth rates in the treatment group increased significantly both the thin endometrium (from 4.7% to 24%) and the recurrent implantation failure groups (from 7.9% to 33%).
In addition, two of our other clinical studies have also been selected for poster viewing. The first poster shows how to use advanced 3D ultrasound techniques to accurately measure the number and size of follicles during ovarian stimulation, to make a better prediction of expected total and mature eggs retrieved from oocyte donors. A second poster demonstrates how to optimise technical aspects of the egg collection procedure to retrieve the maximum number of eggs, while being as atraumatic as possible to the ovaries.
In future posts, we will provide more information about the rest of our Group’s research work selected for presentation by the Scientific Committee of #ESHRE2023.
